Australian Torrent Sites
« on: May 11, 2008, 10:41:34 am »
My mate used to go on it and it used to be QLD only, I can't remember what it's called and it doesn't come up in Google when you search for it. Does anyone know of any good torrent sites that are Australian, or might not be that I can join up to. I'm talking about the good torrent sites, not torrentz, piratebay etc. I'm a member at www.torrentleech.org not sure if they're allowing people to sign up at the moment but you have to keep your ratio up there to be able to download the new torrents that are uploaded to the site. If they're not allowing sign up I'm almost a power user so if someone hooks me up with an invite to another good torrent site then I'll hook them up when I am a power user, which will be sometime this week.

I'm on demonoid and also very happy that it is back up. I finished a 1.2gb download the other day in about a uni-days worth of downloading with i think 5-7 seeds. So people are still very active. Only problem is how facist they can be about uploading, and since telstra sucks my uploads count to my download limit. But i usually wait until end of the month before i start seeding hardcore.

tl;dr: Demonoid is once again awesome

I've never really used torrents to download shit.  I used to use eMule.

Someone give me a quick guide to torrent shit.  I'm at my ex's on ADSL2+ for a week and a bit, so it's time to download the fuck out of shit while she's away so she can come back to shaped innernetz for a fortnight!  :D

First things first... Get a torrent egine downloader thingo.. There are heaps out there but most contain Trojans..

Utorrent is decent enough
http://www.utorrent.com/download.php

Goto a torrent site.. NOTE some have registrations only open every once and a great while... demonoid for instance.. Use Mininova for the time being imo.

Make sure you always check the comments and try stick to aXXo's movies for good qaulity AVI's.

if u use mininova no, only private trackers require u to seed what u leech

Edit: i personally use torrentz.com to search for stuff my private trackers dont have.

private trackers i use are acetorrents.net and supertorrents.org.

I've got a private tracker for australian content.

I'm not listing it here in a public thread though.
It's invite only, and you need to keep a reasonable ratio, It has a fair amount of users that have free pipe traffic though if that appeals.
